Volunteering with Wish of a Lifetime® from AARP not only allows older adults to feel connected to the places and people who made them who they are, but allows for you to experience the joy, pride and compassion that you were able to help someone accomplish a lifelong dream. Giving back after her wish
Helen’s wish had a profound impact on her; the gift of singing on stage inspired her to volunteer so other seniors could experience the same feelings. She joined our team of volunteers to hand out roses on Valentine’s Day with the Cupid Crew in Washington, D.C.
“Valentine’s Day is a day of love, and I’m here to help share the love with others who might walk by. It’s just a beautiful thing to do—I love the idea.”
Witnessing the power of a wish
Along with a group of enthusiastic volunteers from Los Angeles, Christy cheered on Donald as he embarked on his lifelong wish of flying in the Goodyear Blimp.
Christy said, “Working with Wish of a Lifetime has given me a greater purpose when connecting with the elderly, who I believe are all part of the greatest generation. It is a blessing and honor to witness the pure joy in the eyes of a wish recipient who is so deserving of having a wish granted.”
