Director, Field Program
Jared Bloomfield
Jared’s journey began with his special relationship with his grandmother, Eva, who taught him the value of openness, warmth, and unconditional love. They shared a love for baseball, and in honor of her 70th birthday, Jared’s family surprised her with a trip to Wrigley Field to see her favorite team, the Cubs, play. Meeting her hero, Harry Carrey, was a moment of pure joy that Eva cherished for the rest of her life. Eva told her Harry Carrey story almost every day for the next twenty years, and when she passed away, the photo of her and Harry Carrey still sat proudly by her bedside.
In watching his grandmother’s joy, Jared immediately recognized the worth of granting a wish to a deserving older adult. After receiving his Master’s degree in social work from the University of Denver in 2016, Jared joined the Wish of a Lifetime team, hoping that WOL’s incredible program could reach and benefit lives in a similar manner to his beloved grandmother’s experience.
As Director of the National Field team, Jared’s team educates communities about this program and organizes volunteers to show support to our wonderful wish recipients, their families, and older adults across the United States. Jared’s leadership and dedication have been instrumental in expanding the reach and impact of Wish of a Lifetime, ensuring that more older adults can experience the joy and fulfillment of having their wishes granted.
