Eleanor Meets Triplet Great Grandchildren for the First Time

Eleanor is a 100 year old woman devoted to her family. Her older adult living community, Wynwood of Madison West, gave her news of her greatest birthday wish: to meet her triplet great grandchildren.

Eleanor was married to her husband Colbie for 66 years. During that time they were active volunteers in their community and raised two children. Eleanor’s grandson, Eric, and his wife, Joy, welcomed triplets to their family two years ago. It was a high-risk birth. The babies were born premature and they struggled to reach good health. Colbie, Audrey, and Hope were all eventually released to go home, and their great grandmother was filled with pride when all three beautiful girls went home to their family. She carries and proudly displays pictures of her great granddaughters, but so far had only been able to see them via Skype. Eleanor’s daughter Sally said she was mesmerized when she saw their tiny, perfect faces, and constantly remarked, “I wish I could hold them!”

Wish of a Lifetime and Brookdale Senior Living made Eleanor’s wish a reality, assisting with travel accommodations for the family to drive from Savannah, GA, to Madison, WI. The family traveled over 2000 miles to unite these precious children with the matriarch of their family on October 20th, 2012. They had a professional photography session so the family will be able to remember the visit forever. This was a wonderful opportunity to bring four generations of Eleanor’s family together. Eleanor declared, “I never thought I would ever deserve anything so wonderful, I am blessed.”
