Fred H. is an 84 year old from Olympia Fields, IL, with an extensive family. Fred has 9 sons, 3 daughters, 35 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. Fred served in the Army from 1948 – 1952 as a supply clerk. He married his wife while stationed in Kansas in 1950, and they started their large family. Fred always worked very hard to provide for his family, sometimes working two jobs.
Fred’s Wish of a Lifetime is to be able to reconnect with all of his 11 children. Last March, one of Fred’s sons lost his battle with cancer. It was that moment when he knew this was his Wish of a Lifetime. On August 3, 2013, Wish of a Lifetime and Brookdale Senior Living were able to reunite Fred and his family for the first time since 1972. It has been 41 years since he has seen them all together, and having his children all in one place again meant the world to Fred.
