Margaret Reunites with her Brother

Margaret, 89, from Brookdale Naples in Naples, Florida, wishes she could see her brother again. Margaret grew up as one of six siblings during the Great Depression. Bob, the youngest of the six children, is Margaret’s only living sibling. Margaret said that Bob “…is the only family I have left that has known me since I was a kid. He’s the only one that knows everything about me; the joys I had when I was growing up, and the hardships.” Margaret Wished to reunite with Bob before it was too late.

Margaret was a registered nurse who volunteered with various health-related causes throughout her life. One of her greatest achievements includes volunteering in 3 different hospitals during the polio epidemic. Margaret also founded a hospice program about 25 years ago. Today, Margaret looks out for other residents and notifies staff if someone seems under the weather.

Wish of a Lifetime and Brookdale Senior Living were excited to send Bob and his wife, Relna, to Naples to reunite with Margaret. During the visit, Bob and Margaret went to a special dinner and visited with several family members who flew in for the reunion. They also had a party at Brookdale Naples to celebrate. “It was just fantastic. My sister and I fell in love all over again,” said Bob. After 7 long years apart, Margaret and Bob were excited to reminisce about their past and make new memories that will last a lifetime.
