Eloise Learns to Ride a Horse

At the age of 90 years, Eloise has never had an opportunity to ride a horse in her lifetime. Currently residing in Evansville, IN at the Sterling House of Evansville, she dreams of the day where she will finally be able to place this wish to rest. Although Eloise grew up on a farm, her parents would not allow her to ride the horses because they felt it was too dangerous. She remembers how her brother’s would always sneak out to have the opportunity to ride the horses, but she would never go along with them. Over time, this is something she has come to regret. Eloise became fond of all animals after living on the farm, and her wish to ride a horse never subsided. Wish of a Lifetime and Brookdale made Eloise’s wish a reality on April 4, 2015 by sending her, her daughter (Kathy), her son-in law (Michael), and her friend from the Brookdale staff (Dawn) to a local therapeutic riding center called Stir-N-Up Hope. Eloise had an incredible time at the riding center and stated that “it was more fun than I could have ever imagined”.

Special thank you to Stir-N-Up Hope for helping to coordinate the wish. Photography Credits: Bara Photography
