Caren Takes a Ride in a Rumble Seat

Caren M., 70, residing at Brookdale New Braunfels in New Braunfels, TX has always had a unique passion for collecting antiques. For years, Caren filled her house with old treasures from antique shops and shows around Texas. Recently, she went to an antique car museum with friends and neighbors. As soon as she saw a car with a pop-up rumble seat, she realized that her Wish of a Lifetime was to ride in one before it is too late.

Caren describes herself as relatively reserved and not always looking for a big adventure. Recently, Caren has had some significant health issues that have deterred her from going about daily life and pursuing her passions. After visiting the antique car shop, with a gleam in her eye, she made her wish known to ride in a car with a rumble seat before they are no longer around. Rumble seat cars were very popular in pre-WWII vehicles, and are now a commodity. Because of Caren’s love of antiques, riding in one has always interested her, but she never had the opportunity to express to do so. Caren stated that if she were able to ride in one, it would be a little adventure for her to always look back on and cherish.

Caren is a dedicated member of the community and is always there to lend a hand to new residents as a part of the Welcome Ambassadors. She is described as one of the most loyal and caring residents and has volunteered her time working in the library for over a year, assisting the staff with even the smallest tasks.
