Dale, from Carolina House Brookdale Community in Forest City, NC, turned 99 on October 17, 2011. Her Wish of a Lifetime was to reunite with her sisters Julie and Janna for her birthday party.
Dale has been a dedicated first grade teacher for most of her life, and has used her gift to help teach countless people how to read. She spent part of her life in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where her husband was stationed in the Navy, and the other part back in the United States where she continued to bring the gift of reading to others.
Wish of a Lifetime and Brookdale were able to organize the perfect family birthday party for Dale by flying Julie in from Kentucky and organizing Janna’s drive in from South Carolina for big celebration on the 17th! Tears of joy filled Dale’s eyes as she got to share her very special day with her sisters and family!
