Dolly Hosts a Second Sunday Dinner

Albina “Dolly” is a vibrant 87 year old woman who currently lives at the East Bay Manor Brookdale Community in East Providence, Rhode Island. Her Wish of a Lifetime is to have a “Second Sunday” Dinner at her new home with all of her family.

The Second Sunday dinner tradition started over 25 years ago when Dolly’s granddaughter was leaving for college. Dolly and her husband gathered over 17 family members at their house for a feast. The dinner went so well that they made it a monthly tradition! The menu varied, but two things were always present: family and Dolly’s famous spaghetti and meatballs.

The tradition continued until 2008 when the challenges of life got in the way. It took a little time, but now that her and her husband have settled into their new home at Brookdale, they are ready to get cooking again.

On Sunday, March 11, 2012, Dolly and her family and friends reunited at the East Bay Manor Brookdale Community and enjoyed a feast of home-made meatballs, sausage, sauce and many other culinary delights! Second Sunday lives on!
