Dick Delivers Father’s WWI Memorabilia to Marine Corps Museum

Dick is an energetic and lively 88-year-old from Golden, CO. His Wish was to visit Quantico Marine Base to deliver his father’s WWI memorabilia that will be displayed in Quantico’s Marine Corps Museum.

Dick was a member of the 10th Mountain Division during WWII. The 10th was a unique mountain warfare unit of the US Army where soldiers were trained to ski, so that they could fight in the tough terrain of Italian mountains. Although Dick was never stationed in Italy, he remains a very active member in the 10th Mountain Division Rocky Mountain Chapter. Dick’s Wish to visit Quantico Marine Base was one he held close to his heart.

On April 15th, 2012, Wish of a Lifetime sent Dick to deliver memorabilia from his dad’s service in the Coast Defense and Marines during WWI to Quantico’s Marine Corps Museum in Virginia. Dick found immediate comfort in knowing that his dad’s legacy will forever live on, as the museum gladly accepted these priceless artifacts.
