This petite thrill seeker spent most of her life raising her four children and volunteering in their schools. Later, she spent her life travelling wherever the wind took her. Now she teaches exercise classes at her assisted living facility and plays pool on her off time.
Seeking a faster pace
Ten years ago, Helen got hooked on the rush of riding a motorcycle around the city. The trip was too slow for her taste, and buying and riding her own was dangerous. But she never forgot the feeling and when asked for a wish, her heart spoke.
“I am getting older. I see others riding and it’s something I have never done before and it excites something in me,” she said.
Wish of a Lifetime and Brookdale Senior Living were thrilled to grant Helen’s unique and daring wish. On December 21st, Helen finally got a true Harley experience. Leesburg’s Gator Harley Davidson made sure that Helen was riding in style, supplying her with a black & white riding jacket, sunglasses, and riding gloves.
“I was looking like a true biker babe,” Helen said.
Helen hit the road on a brand new 2018 Harley Davidson Ultra Limited driven by one of the company’s employees, Johnny Malik. They took a scenic ride around Lake Harris and even swung by Lake Port Square to greet her friends.
“I loved the adrenaline rush I got out of the curves,” Helen said. “It was everything I imagined and then some.”
