Joyce Enjoys a Parisian Fashion Show at her Community

Joyce, 94, has an eye for fashion. Always admiring and complimenting her fellow residents’ wardrobes, Joyce’s passion shines through in her everyday interactions. She even leads her community’s weekly ‘Fashion Trivia’ activity. “Fashion is a different world,” she says.

Joyce’s love of style stems from residing in New York City, one of the world’s fashion hubs. However, when she moved to Miami to work as the editor of the Miami Daily News, she noticed something was missing—the cutting-edge fashion she loved. In an effort to bring New York City style to her new home, Joyce covered the hottest trends in her news editorials. Her favorite style of fashion was, and still is, Parisian. Joyce’s love for French fashion has stood the test of time, and she longed to have a Paris-themed fashion show at her Brookdale community.
Wish of a Lifetime, along with Brookdale Senior Living, were pleased to make Joyce’s Paris-themed fashion show Wish come true by bringing the world of fashion to her. The community was decked out as if it were a real Parisian runway, complete with an Eiffel tower backdrop. From décor to music to fashion, the show gave Joyce the feeling of viewing her favorite Joan Crawford and Audrey Hepburn styles in Paris itself. The day was truly unforgettable!
