Sarah Gets Back on the Golf Course

Sarah, 85, currently resides at the Carriage Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. Sarah developed an interest in golf later in life after taking lessons at a community college. After the lessons ended, she stopped playing golf but wishes she had continued playing the sport. Sarah worked for 34 years in the city tax department. After she retired, her job became volunteering. She was extremely involved in community service, working in hospitals, meals on wheels, and soup kitchens. She also volunteered much of her time at her church. Sarah is now a Resident Ambassador and greets new members, welcoming them into the community. Sarah is a wonderful baker and known for her delicious treats; she even baked her grandchildren’s wedding cakes. Sarah is a delightful woman who is always putting others first.

Although Sarah stopped playing golf herself and spent her days volunteering and baking, she still loves watching golf every weekend with her son-in-law. Her Wish of a Lifetime was to get back on the golf course one more time! Wish of a Lifetime and Brookdale were pleased to send Sarah back to the green for the first time in over 20 years to have a private golf lesson at the Ballantyne Golf course located in Charlotte, NC. Sarah and her daughter, Marcie, received lessons from a golf pro for a half an hour, and took a tour of the resort grounds.
