Travis and Norbalene Take a Train Ride to the Grand Canyon

Travis, 81, and his wife Norbalene, 77, are residents at the Horizon Bay of Bossier City in Louisiana. Travis and Norbalene have always dreamed of taking a train ride together to the Grand Canyon. Due to caring for their family, the opportunity to take this train ride together never became a possibility. Travis explains that “life just went by so fast, and by the time it slowed down, my wife and I were not physically able to go on our own.”

Travis spent four years serving in the Navy and was stationed in San Diego, CA, for a majority of the time. During his tenure in the Navy, he traveled to Japan on three different tours. Currently, Travis spends most of his time aiding to his ailing wife. The couple has been unable to travel outside of their community for four years due to health restrictions. They would love to have the opportunity to have one last chance at their train ride to the Grand Canyon.

Wish of a Lifetime and Brookdale were very excited to be able to make this lovely couple’s wish a reality. Travis and Norbalene traveled with their two daughters, Janet and Teresa, and their son, Lee, to the Grand Canyon to finally take the train ride they had been dreaming of for years. The couple stated that the trip could not have been more perfect, and they were overjoyed to have the opportunity to experience this with their three children.
