As the NFL Colts were suiting up to take the field at the Lucas Oil Stadium against the Texans, Carolyn was putting on her favorite jersey- #12 Mr. Andrew Luck. Carolyn, 83, has always dreamed of attending an Indianapolis Colts game because she is a diehard Colts fan, she says, “I know the names of the players and their positions. I am not just a fair weather fan. I defend the team when others put them down.”
Carolyn is a natural born leader; she currently serves as the Brookdale ambassador in Willow Lake, to lead programs within her community. Carolyn has always felt her purpose in life was to help other people, seeing the smiles on her family, friends, and community is what drives her to volunteer. She volunteered with Lion’s Club for over thirty years as the first woman in her district to serve as the regional governor with the club. Additionally, she worked with a local school to organize an annual Thanksgiving food drive, so all the students could enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner. As Carolyn’s generous and dedicated spirit leads in her community, her Wish of watching the Colts play was out of reach until she came across Wish of a Lifetime.
Her Wish of a Lifetime to see the Colts play was fulfilled December 20, 2015. After her husband passed away, Carolyn said she felt his presence while watching the games on television, but being able to see the Colts play live, and even meet some of the players exceeded her expectations. She was smiling ear to ear the whole game, especially when she met Andrew Luck!
