Leona, 90, of Statesville Manor in Statesville, NC wished to visit her friends in Chicago one more time.
Leona had to leave her home in Chicago at a moment’s notice to move to North Carolina with one of her sons. Because of this sudden move, Leona was unable to say her goodbyes to her friends and her city. Since moving 4 years ago, Leona never thought she would have a chance to return to the city that she spent 85 years of her life in.
On June 24, 2011, Wish of a Lifetime and Brookdale Senior Living sent Leona and her son Joe to Chicago so she could see her friends and give her husband a proper goodbye at his grave.
