Simon watches the Miami Dolphins defeat the Buffalo Bills

Simon of Hutchinson, Kansas has always had a strong work ethic. He worked in Phoenix, Arizona for much of his life for the city’s water and sewage department. He spent many years in this occupation, working long hours to provide for his family, who are incredibly important to him. It was during these years that Simon found excitement in the Miami Dolphins football team. He has loved the team since before Don Shula first led them to their back-to-back Superbowl championships in 1973 and 1974. However, he had been unable to attend a game because his dedication, first and foremost, lies with his family, and he never had the time or finances to make this Wish a reality.

Simon is now an active member of the Brookdale Hutchinson community. He oversees the community vegetable garden project and always makes an attempt to befriend all residents. This has been an especially tough obstacle for him to tackle, since he has retained his accent while speaking, which, in the past, has caused him to become withdrawn. However, it has never kept him from caring and giving back to others.

Simon had put his Wish of a Lifetime on the back burner for many years, but on October 23, 2016, he flew to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to see the Miami Dolphins play and defeat the Buffalo Bills with his son, Eric.
